As each year nears its close, it's nice to reflect on some of the highlights of the year:

...Two DeBirk grandsons (Rob and Steven) were married to their beautiful sweethearts. What handsome brides and grooms they were!

...I now have 2 great-grandsons, the youngest born on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, my granddaughter, her husband and 2 little boys live in Philadelphia, so I don't get to see them often enough. We're looking forward to a visit from them during the holidays.

...My other two granddaughters are away at college, but will be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I miss them all!

...A significant event (for me) was attending the 60th Reunion of our graduating class at East High (guess that tells you how OLD I am!). It was great fun renewing old friendships.

...Best wishes to Nellie and Maurice Bowman on their calling to serve in the new temple in southern Mexico. They'll be marvelous examples to the people in that area.

...Thanks again to Dan and Dee for hosting the DeBirk family Christmas party. It's wonderful to keep this family tradition; Bill would be so happy to see us together, but we know he's with us in spirit. Happy Holidays to all of you.
